Traction Direct sponsors Tommy Bridewell at British Super Bikes 2018


British battery charger manufacturers Traction Direct is proud to announce their sponsorship of Tommy Bridewell in the 2018 British Superbikes.

Tommy is from Devizes, UK which is where Traction Direct is based and as such the company has followed his rise through the biking world over the last 15 years. Tommy started racing bikes in 2000, graduating through the years up to racing in the British 125 GB class finishing 4th in 2003 and 8th in 2004. In 2005 he moved into the Yamaha R6 cup first year on a 4 stroke, winning four times. 2007 was a tough year for Tommy and his family losing his race companion and brother Ollie. In 2008 Tommy moved to Italy to compete in the Italian Superbike Championship where he broke his leg in round one but returned to action after only eight weeks and secured 3rd overall in the championship. From 2009 he has competed in the European stk100 championships and British Superbikes regularly securing podium spots.

2018 will see Tommy ride Suzuki for Halsall Movuno Suzuki, and battle once again for podium and showdown spots.    

Sponsors Traction Direct create battery charging technology for many industries including automotive, haulage, and many other industries. Their units are suitable for both industrial and workshop use. They also design and manufacture bespoke charging solutions for both ‘one’ off production or volume applications.  The company has been at the forefront of battery charging technology since the 1980’s when the company developed the first charger to correctly charge the then new Calcium/Calcium and Calcium/Silver lead/acid batteries. Since then Traction Direct has developed many new charging-related products, including the patented Sulphation Recovery Programme used by many of the world’s leading battery and vehicle manufacturers.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Traction Direct will be supplying a MPL10 Battery Charger for Bridewell’s Suzuki bike. The MPL is suitable for use on AGM, GEL, Calcium and Lead Acid battery types and is used by some of the world's leading vehicle and battery manufacturers. It features a patented Sulphation Recovery System, as well as reverse polarity protection, soft start current control, fast constant current bulk charge, 3-stage charging, constant voltage float/standby, independent overrun timer and accurate zero-crossing voltage sensing. It will allow Bridwell and his team constant support and output functionality during diagnostic support.

As part of the sponsorship deal, Traction Direct will be demonstrating the use of the MPL10 with the team in the workshop, to be published through various medias. The deal also includes logo placement on helmet and leathers, as well as social media exposure.
